Business Development Support Manager

Our client are seeking a Business Development Support Manager to join their team.

As part of the Business Development Committee, you will form part of a small team of senior colleagues providing non-client facing support to them to develop, implement and measure business development effectiveness.

Your main responsibilities will be to support the business development function by co-ordinating, producing and delivering all documentation for new business proposals and pitches, as well as analysis and reporting for the BD Committee, directors,and board. In addition, you will support, or lead,key business internal development initiatives, such as our key intermediary initiative and other internal business development focused projects.

Key Result Areas:

  • Delivery of accurate, timely and relevant business development related support in line with business standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Assist in the management of key BD programmes and internal initiatives.
  • Own and develop reporting and analysis on BD progress across the business.
  • Carry out research projects, market mapping and analysis.
  • Take responsibility for own personal development, in line with agreed annual performance objectives.
  • Be an internal role model and ambassador.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce new business proposals and pitch documentation for prospective clients and/or intermediaries to include taking a proactive role in pricing discussions with senior team members.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to produce briefings, client case studies, collateral documentation,and team bios.
  • Ongoing enhancement and improvement of pitch/proposal documentation and templates.
  • Assist in targeting/arranging intermediary business development trips by directors.
  • Support directors with preparing for trips, to include research, collating collateral, planning meetings etc.
  • Arrange post-trip follow-up meetings to review and log activities, actions,and impact, providing support for follow-up as appropriate.
  • Support the key client/ intermediary programme by conducting research, organising meetings with lead director(s), taking notes at meetings, logging actionsand tracking follow-up and outcomes.
  • Work with the Marketing Department and senior members of the team to coordinate mailing lists and invitations to events.
